Are Harley Bikers Spiritual?

I had an interesting experience today that I wanted to share with you. As a motorcyclist passed by me, I felt respect for the perfection he strives for in himself.  Instantly, a wave of energy flood through my body and I began to cry, aware of a deep compassion that had just hit me.  I knew my weekend events held great significance, yet it wasn’t until that moment that all the pieces fit together for me.

I love exploring culture, moving beyond my comfort zone to see different perspectives in life.  I practice releasing my judgments and fears to be present so new wisdom can be learned.  This weekend I had the opportunity to participate in what many people would believe were opposing cultures.

Friday night I celebrated Krishna’s Birthday with an Indian Puja.  We dressed in white for purity to honor our guru Amma. We sang Hindu prayers called Bhajans, threw rose petals and meditated to connect with Spirit for several hours.

Sliding into my jeans, removing my mala beads I was handed a jello shot as I arrived at a gathering of Harley Bikers and Vets on the Indian Reservation later that night.  Excited to see my friend Kimko, I was surprised with the unexpected fears of gang rape, drugs, and violence that filled my mind as I approached the campground.

What I experienced from this point on changed the way I relate to men. Dimly lit, the field was covered with hundreds of tents placed inches from each other. Groups of men wearing black leather jackets covered with their clubs patches gathered together drinking beer and shaking hands. What could have been intimidating quickly turned to kindness as I was taken care of with food, laughter and welcomed into their family.

Honor, Respect and Brotherhood were core values demonstrated from these men at a level I have never seen before.  As the Bikers, Veterans, Soldiers and Native Indians gathered in ceremony, they spoke of Spirit, supporting each other and respecting the land.  They honored the POW’s, released ashes of a man who had died so they could be together each year and were proud to defend those in need.  Wanting to understand more, I ask many questions. When I went too far, they had compassion, gently teaching me how to respect their traditions and behave appropriately.

Releasing my fears, I climbed on the back of Kimko’s Harley and went for a long ride up the mountains.  Photographers shot pictures as the speed bikers skimmed the curves, but Kimko was cautious, fearful they could crash in front of us.  Our safety was most important to him, protecting us from danger.  The next few hours I witnessed great diversity.  I saw fear, judgment and separation shown by society that disappointed me as we stopped at restaurants.  Then I was amazed with the unspoken honor of the brotherhood, as every biker passed waving at us and warning of us of danger.

As a convoy of soldiers drove by on my way home, I found myself looking at each one, respecting and appreciating that they were protecting me.  Before this weekend, I had just seen soldiers, but had never related to them from this perspective.  As the motorcyclist passed I felt respect, which flooded my heart with compassion.  I understood unconditional love at a deep level, and suddenly felt the separation I had lived with by relating from this superficial place.

I challenge you to reach beyond your boundaries. Submerge yourself into the unknown. Release your fears and judgments so you can truly understand.  Let compassion flood your heart as you realize all you have been missing.

Fate or Freewill??

Fate or Freewill a friend asked me?  Today my prayer was bringing heaven to earth, sharing God’s message with the world, knowing Children’s message ready to come forth & be on television.  

Yesterday I was at an antique show, reminiscing, I realized that I was flowing through the crowds with ease. I wasn’t even looking at the crowd really, I was just sensing & flowing with the universe and it was so easy.  Later I walked the show with a friend.  It was so awkward, bumping into people, stop, wait, bump, etc.  I recognized it yet believed it was because there were two of us moving through.

Today, I left for lunch early, walked down the street & came in the path of a friend. He was just laid off his job & was walking in the stillness, connecting with God for guidance in his life.  This man has been doing incredible children’s work for years & instantly I knew he was meant to be unleashed to his fullest potential in the world.  The school he worked at was too small for the talents he has to share.  

So fate or freewill?  I believe we have both.  We can choose to walk in alignment with God, or bump around with discomfort.  As we clear ourselves of the baggage & patterns  we hold, we are able to walk in alignment with universal balance, ease, and flow through life.  It’s not always easy, as much of the spiritual work is challenging & awkward.

Which Reality Are You Living In?

Which reality are you living in?  We have come to know what reality is.  Have you considered it is only the reality you have created?  Sometimes the reality we think seems so out there, is a reality that is filled with endless possibilities.  We spend the majority of our lives judging ourselves & others with very little awareness of what the other person is experiencing.
 
Children are learning our reality.  They are born with the ability to flow with universal wisdom.  They see the magical world, yet we get frustrated & teach them what we know about this scary world & all our fears.  Negative reinforcement.

Perfection

The word of the day is “Perfection”.  A beautiful word that so many people spend their lives consumed by.  What is perfection anyway? A set of standards we place upon ourselves to judge, ridicule & torment ourselves by.
 
 A client in her 70’s was battling with perfection today.  “Oh no, I’m not perfect”, she shares.   Holding herself to the expectations of others then ridiculing herself relentlessly of how she is such a failure.  I asked her to consider for a moment that she is perfect exactly the way she is.  Try as she might, it was just too much for her to comprehend.  To suspend this belief meant freedom & happiness to her, but it was easier for her to continue believing that she was a failure, with no hope for her future.  Wow!!  Where does this happen in our lives that we become so distant from the truth of who we are?  What are we reaching for that when achieved brings such minimal satisfaction?
 
Recognizing that the average 2 year old hears 432 negative comments to 13 positive it’s no wonder that we question who we are & what our value is.   I love the difference I am making in people’s lives, by bringing awareness to who they are right now & all that is possible for them.  I am working with children “Now” clearing them of these negative beliefs patterns they have inherited or heard, so they can have a better life now & not wait until they are 40 to clear the broken records they have spent their lives trapped by.  Children don’t hold onto their baggage like adults,  so the transformation in their self esteem, grades & relationships is remarkable.  
 
When we are able to look at each other seeing the perfection of who the person is, exactly the way they are, we are able to release judgement & ridicule for ourselves and the world. Think of all that is possible if it was ok to be you, exactly the way you are.

Sex & the Source

When energy is surging between two people, it’s easy to get hungry believing the other person is the source of our ecstasy.  A girlfriend of mine is involved in a new relationship.  It has been an exotic love affair, a tantric awakening for her.  Insecurities are now beginning to arise, throwing this dynamic woman into self-doubt.  What is so intoxicating about this energy??  
 
Tantric love, the dynamic source of life is creative energy, God presence.  A warm sensation that fills our body with extreme joy, intoxicating pleasure.  In Christianity it can be known as Holy Spirit coming over you.  In Asian culture, chi flowing, others call it polarity.  Regardless of the definition, I would like to share that she had been caught up in believing he was her source of enjoyment.  
 
When a fire is this bright, it creates a hunger inside of us to connect with this light.  Although polarity & presence have a great deal to do with elevating our tantric connection, I would like to remind that our partner is not our source & if it is, there is potential for a breakdown.  
 
I shared that God is the connection, that it is life force that she is connecting to.  By shifting her awareness to be on God vs. the man, she is able to release the attachment & neediness that she was experiencing.  In this way, nothing is given to us & nothing is taken away by our partner.  Simply she is connecting with God, perhaps in a higher state through her connection with him, but that she should recognize & shift her focus to be on God vs the man.  
 
I recommend focus first on God, then self, then others.  This will allow us to be grounded, find our connection with self & God, then share this with our lover.  I find that in recognizing our true source we are able to feel extreme pleasure in all aspects of life.  When you quiet your mind enough, you will be able to connect to source, feel the tingling of life all around you, bring this presence inside (as it’s already there, we are just too busy in our minds to recognize it’s presence), then as you clear your thoughts you will be able to feel intense pleasure by just feeling the wind, connecting with a smile, feeling someone’s heart, etc.  
 
Energy is extraordinary and there is a whole new world waiting for us to explore.  A depth so dynamic, just to be in someone’s presence you would be able to orgasm with the touch of your arm.  Imagine being that “turned On” or should I say that “tuned In”, that is where the real pleasure begins.  Enjoy.
